Öhlins Shock Absorbers
An Öhlins rear shock replaces the original rear shock absorber, or the pair of twin shocks, on your motorcycle. Every shock here is made for specific models, named in the title with the Öhlins part number. Harley-Davidson has the most, then Yamaha, Honda, BMW, KTM and Kawasaki, with Triumph, Husqvarna, Ducati, Vespa, GasGas and others. A few are front shocks, for the Vespa GTS and the BMW R 1200 GS.
The Öhlins rear shock lines
- Öhlins STX 46: monotube shocks with a 46 mm piston, for road and adventure bikes. Example: Öhlins STX 46 Shock Absorber YA 569 for Yamaha MT-09.
- Öhlins STX 36 and Öhlins Blackline: twin shocks for Harley-Davidson Touring, Sportster, Dyna and FXR, and scooter shocks. Example: Öhlins STX 36 Blackline Shock Absorbers HD 751 for Harley-Davidson Sportster 1992–2020.
- Öhlins TTX GP: twin-tube shocks for sport motorcycles. Example: Öhlins TTX GP Shock Absorber BM 570 for BMW S 1000 RR.
- Öhlins TTX Flow: twin-tube shocks for motocross and enduro; Öhlins' own shop marks the ones we checked, such as the DMX 0214, "Motorsport product, not for use on public roads".
Shocks outside these lines, such as the many titled by part number alone, are listed on this page only.
Adjustment
Öhlins says its shocks can be adjusted for spring preload, and many for compression and rebound damping too, so they can be set up for different riders and riding. The adjusters differ by part number: some shocks have a hydraulic preload adjuster, others a mechanical one, and the reservoir may be internal, piggyback or hose-mounted. Check the listing for your part number.

Will it fit my motorcycle?
Each listing title names the make and models it fits, with the Öhlins part number. The Fitment section on the listing gives the exact models and years; check yours before ordering.
Does an Öhlins shock come with a spring?
Not always. Öhlins supplies its MX and enduro shocks, the Öhlins TTX Flow range here, without a spring, and the spring for the rider's weight has to be ordered separately. For any shock, check the listing and the mounting instructions, which carry Öhlins' spring recommendations.
