Öhlins TTX Flow Shocks

Öhlins TTX Flow shocks are twin-tube rear shocks for motocross and enduro motorcycles. Öhlins' own shop marks the ones we checked, such as the DMX 0214, "Motorsport product, not for use on public roads". Each one here is made for specific models, named in the title with its DMX part number: KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas, Yamaha YZ, Honda CRF, Kawasaki KX and the Triumph TF 250.

How the Öhlins TTX Flow works

Öhlins TTX is a twin-tube design: it creates damping by raising oil pressure on one side of the piston with gas pressure on the other, and Öhlins says that by never letting oil pressure fall below gas pressure it avoids cavitation. It also lets compression and rebound damping be adjusted separately. The Öhlins TTX Flow DV versions, such as the DMX 0214, add a high-speed adjuster which, in Öhlins' words, targets "position, stroking velocity, g-force hold up and bottoming control". Öhlins lists the DMX 0214 as a high-pressure gas shock with an external piggyback reservoir.

Springs

Öhlins delivers its MX and enduro shocks without a spring. The spring for the rider's weight is ordered separately, and Öhlins gives its recommendation in the shock's mounting instructions. Examples:
