Öhlins NIX 30 Cartridge Kits
Öhlins NIX 30 cartridge kits replace the internals of a motorcycle's standard front forks. Most here are Öhlins NIX 30 Street kits, part numbers starting FKS, which also sit on the Öhlins FKS Street page. The rest are FGK kits, including two NIX 30 Hypersport kits for the Yamaha YZF-R1 and Ducati Panigale.
How the Öhlins NIX design works
Öhlins NIX kits split the damping between the fork legs: compression damping in the left leg and rebound in the right, marked "COMP" and "REB" on the top caps. All adjustments, including spring preload, are made at the top of the fork legs. Öhlins says the NIX technology is developed from high-level racing such as WSBK, and that every kit is individually tested with its setting, spring and top-out spring.
Fitting
Each kit is made for specific models, named in the title. Spring-rate and oil recommendations for rider weight are in the kit's mounting instructions, special tools are not included, and Öhlins strongly recommends installation by a professional motorcycle or suspension workshop. Examples:
- Öhlins NIX 30 Hypersport Fork Cartridge Kit FGK 239 for Yamaha YZF-R1 1000
- Öhlins NIX 30 Fork Cartridge Kit FGK 243 for Aprilia RS 660
- Öhlins NIX 30 FKS Street Fork Cartridge Kit FKS 501 for Ducati Scrambler 1100 / Scrambler 803
