Öhlins NIX 22 Cartridge Kits
Öhlins NIX 22 cartridge kits replace the internals of a motorcycle's standard front forks. Öhlins says NIX 22 brings its NIX cartridge design to motorcycles with conventional front forks. The kits here fit Harley-Davidson Touring, Fat Boy and Dyna models, and the Yamaha YZF-R3, each named in the title with its Öhlins part number.
How the Öhlins NIX 22 works
Öhlins NIX kits put compression damping in the left fork leg and rebound damping in the right, and all adjustments, including spring preload, are made at the top cap. Öhlins says each NIX 22 kit is tested extensively and tailor-made for the individual bike.
Springs and fitting
Öhlins supplies the NIX 22 FKS 228 with springs, and gives spring-rate and oil recommendations for rider weight in each kit's mounting instructions. Special tools are not included, and Öhlins strongly recommends installation by a professional motorcycle or suspension workshop. Examples:
