Front: fork lowering kits

Progressive says its fork lowering kits come complete with fork springs, spacers and instructions, in a one or two inch low configuration for most models, and that combined with shorter than stock rear shocks they give a low, custom look.

The Drop-in kit, Progressive says, can take up to two inches out of the front end in a 30 minute install you can do in your own garage. It also says the two inch drop is not available on every model, so check the listing for your bike.

Rear: Softail lowering kits

Progressive says its Softail lowering kits lower the motorcycle by one to two inches depending on the setting. The two here cover the 1989 to 1999 and 2000 to 2017 Softail.

Matching front and rear

To lower both ends, pair a fork lowering kit with a shorter rear shock or, on the Softail, a rear lowering kit. Shorter rear shocks are on the shocks page.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

Each title names the motorcycle the part is listed for, with the years where the supplier gives them. Where a part fits more models than the title can hold, it says so, and the Fitment section on the listing gives every model and year. Check the year range as well as the model name, and on Harley-Davidson models check which fork tube diameter your bike has.

How much lower will my bike sit?

It depends on the kit and the bike. Progressive gives one or two inches for its fork lowering kits on most models, up to two inches for the Drop-in kit, and one to two inches for the Softail rear kit depending on setting. The listing for your bike gives what applies to it.
