Liners and insulation
ICON's Contra 3 pages list a "Removable full-length insulated liner". On the Mototanker, ICON lists a "Removable insulated vest liner for warmth". ICON's PDX3 and Midhawk pages both say "Includes a removable insulated vest for colder weather riding". The Fallblock is insulated. ICON's line is "85gm polyfil insulation for warmth".
ICON vests
The Mil-Spec 3 listings carry no certification row. ICON's pages for them name no D3O insert. ICON names a D3O Viper back insert on the Regulator vest. The Regulator listing's certification row reads "Removable Level 1 back impact protector - EN 1621-2:2014".
Armour, vests and fit
Can the armour be taken out?
ICON says the armour can be taken out on three families. Its men's Overlord 3 Leather pages say "The armor is removable". ICON's Upstate Canvas CE pages say "removable D3O® elbow, shoulder, and back impact protectors". For the Regulator vest, ICON says "The updated D3O® Viper back protector is removable". ICON's pages for the Airform, Basehawk 2, Contra 3, Fallblock, Hooligan CE, Merc3, Mesh AF, Midhawk, Mototanker, PDX3, Slabtown and Tuscadero 3 do not say so, and neither do its other Overlord 3 and Upstate pages.
Which vest goes over a jacket?
Both ICON vests can go over a jacket. ICON's Regulator page says the vest "can be worn over jacket or as a stand alone garment", and its Mil-Spec 3 pages say "Designed to fit closely over a jacket or hoodie."
Are the women's jackets cut differently from the men's?
ICON words the women's fit differently on the Hooligan CE, Mesh AF and Overlord 3. ICON's women's Hooligan CE and Mesh AF pages say "Woman specific fit for a sport-riding position". The women's Overlord 3 pages say "shaped body" where the men's pages say "waist adjusters". ICON's women's Airform, Fallblock and PDX3 pages use the same fit wording as the men's.
How does ICON say to measure sleeve length?
ICON's instruction: "While standing with your arms relaxed at your side, place one end of a flexible tape measure on your spine at the base of your neck. Measure over the top of your shoulder, down over the point of your elbow, and finish at the wrist bone."
