Motorcycle Hoodies & Sweatshirts

Zip hoodies, pullover hoodies and crew sweatshirts from Harley-Davidson, Biltwell and ROEG, in cottons and fleeces from 7.5oz upwards. None of them is armoured.

Everything on this page is a plain layer. Harley-Davidson MotorClothes make up most of it, with the rest from Biltwell and ROEG. Not one of the 52 listings names a safety standard or comes with armour. If you want armour inside something cut like knitwear, that sits on the jackets and vests page.

The hoodies and sweatshirts here are all for sale with free UK delivery available. Twenty-six of the 52 carry a was-price on the grid at 10% off RRP. The other half do not, and there is no saving to claim on them.

Weight, and the units each maker uses

Biltwell gives a weight in ounces for all seven of its garments. Anvil, Bolts and Shorty are 7.5oz ring-spun cotton, its lightest. Fast Cat and Script Pullover are 8.5oz cotton-polyester fleece, and Pan is a 10oz fleece with a full cotton face. ROEG does not publish a weight at all. Howard and Shawn are both a 70/30 cotton-polyester sweat cloth with zipped pockets, and that is as specific as ROEG's own text gets. Harley-Davidson publishes a blend and a fit word instead: 17 of its 38 are the same 60% cotton and 40% polyester midweight fleece, and five are cotton French terry, among them a 460 gsm Factory Racing pullover.

Hoods, cuffs and what goes under a jacket

Three of these hoodies deal with the same nuisance: a drawcord that flaps about, or catches you in the face, once a jacket collar sits over it. One gets longer flat drawstrings, one an overlap hood in place of them, and the Plaid Lined Zip has two openings so the cord tucks away inside. Biltwell does something at the cuff instead. Its text puts thumbholes in the cuffs of Anvil, Bolts and Shorty to keep sleeves down while riding. Five have them in all: those three, plus a Harley-Davidson cropped full zip hoodie and an off-the-shoulder crew. A kangaroo pocket is more common, on 27 of the 52.

Sizes

Biltwell publishes a chart for its zip hoodies, taken across the garment rather than around the body:

S M L XL 2XL
Chest width 20" 22" 24" 26" 27"
Body length 28" 29" 30" 31" 32"

That covers Anvil, Bolts, Shorty and Stencil Zip. The three pullovers are a different cut. Biltwell publishes nothing for them. ROEG publishes no chart at all for its tops, on this page or the t-shirts page, so the letter sizes on each listing are all you get. Harley-Davidson gives fit words instead, relaxed through body or cropped, and no numeric chart we could read.

Two of these are ours. The Leeds dealership sweater and hoodie carry this shop's own name and are licensed print merchandise, which is why their listings say so little. Read the sizes on the product itself.
